Would you pray over our three open beds?

I wanted to give you a glimpse of what this time of year looks like for our team in Zambia.

After holidays and school breaks (like the recent Christmas and New Year break), we often see a large increase in reports of sexual abuse. When girls are out of school for long periods and daily routines change—and more adults are at home or out of work—risks increase. This is when many girls come forward to report what has happened to them.

That means our team is very busy right now. We are responding to reports, meeting with survivors, and helping connect girls and families to local medical care, legal assistance, and other resources. And when a case meets the criteria for the TKP House, our team follows our internal assessment procedures and works with government partners to determine next steps.

Before the new year, three girls at the TKP House were reintegrated home, opening up three spaces in our home. Our team is carefully assessing which girls may be admitted next to fill those spaces.

We would appreciate your prayers during this time:

  • for the brave survivors in the community who are coming forward to report abuse,

  • for wisdom and stamina for our staff as they assess cases and make decisions,

  • for the three girls and their unborn babies who will join us at the TKP House

Thank you for staying connected to this work and for continuing to pray for the girls and our team.

With gratitude,

P.S. A small update many of you have been holding in prayer: the baby born on Christmas Eve and her mother are both doing well. The baby is healthy, and her mother continues to heal, surrounded by care. Thank you for praying for them.
