let’s bid for hope

For one week, our community will gather online for our fourth annual Bidding for Hope Virtual Auction to support the ongoing care of the young mothers and babies in our home in Zambia. Every item donated, bid made, wine bottle pulled, and paddle raised makes a huge difference for the girls, babies, and families we serve.

We are working hard to gather some amazing items for you to bid on — and woudl love your help! Have any special connections to events, vacation homes, or small businesses? We're looking for donations of...

  • A few nights at a vacation home or rental

  • Airline miles

  • Tickets to sporting events, concerts, comedy shows, etc.

  • Meals, experiences, and events

  • Bottles of wine for our wine pull

  • Gift cards or services from a business you run or love

If you have something to donate to the auction—big or small—just reply to this email, or forward it to someone you think might be able to help!

The value of donated items or services may be tax-deductible.

Interested in sponsoring the event? Your sponsorship could help cover the costs of hosting the event itself, which allows more of the funds raised to go directly toward the daily care of the young mothers and babies in our home.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Depending on the item, a TKP representative will deliver your item by shipping, virtually emailing a voucher or code, and/or in person delivery. Details will be confirmed once the auction closes and winning bidders are determined. 

    Thank you for your patience and flexibility - our team will do everything they can to get your items to you quickly! Please expect up to a 6-week delivery time of physical items. 

  • Yes. After placing your initial bid on an item, you will be given the option to set your "maximum bid" during the checkout process. This is the amount you are authorizing the system to automatically place bids on your behalf at the lowest possible increments. 

  • Yes! You will be given the option to sign up for text alerts during checkout. 

  • Upon checkout, you will be immediately charged for any flat donations, paddle raise donations, or wine pulls. If you have also bid on auction items, you will not be charged for those until the auction closes on April 26 at 9:00 PM, and only if you were the the winning bidder.

  • The Kukhoma Project is a 501(c)(3) organization, so your gift may be tax-deductible in full or in part. Please consult your financial advisor for more details.
