In 2021, in the midst of enormous global challenges, The Kukhoma Project experienced a season of growth and impact. With the support of our global community, we hired new staff members in Zambia, invested in counseling for girls and staff, launched our agricultural empowerment program to help families become economically independent, and reintegrated three girls back into their community.

With your support, The Kukhoma Project helped girls find restoration and empowerment, babies grow into joyful children, and families find a path forward after trauma. We are looking back with gratitude, and looking forward with hope, faith, and excitement for all that is ahead.

WHAT’S HAPPENING
IN ZAMBIA

In Zambia, 2021 was a big year marked by a number of key milestones. Last year we:

• Hired Salem, our Operations Assistant Manager

• Expanded our garden and launched the agriculture empowerment program

• Successfully reintegrated three girls back into their families and communities

• Increased our leadership staff counseling and provided ongoing counseling to the girls

• Continued the baby development program

• Participated in a gender-based violence sensitization campaign in partnership with Chongwe Hospital and the Zambia Center for Communication Programme (ZCCP)

• Established a partnership with Chongwe Hospital’s sexual abuse center
